Turbidity is determined using the established 90° light scattering method. The probe contains two light detectors, one in the optical path, one in an angle of 90° outside of the optical path. Suspended particles in the optical path however can still cause scattering which directs light to the scattered light detector. Turbidity is then calculated from the ratio of transmitted light to scattered light.
